ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,378,273, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to Merck Patent GmbH (Darmstadt, Germany) and Versum Materials US LLC (Tempe, Ariz.).

"Lanthanide and lanthanide-like transition metal complexes" was invented by Christoph Wetzel (Ehingen, Germany), Holger Heil (Frankfurt am Main, Germany), Michal Krompiec (Southampton, Great Britain), Lars Lietzau (Rossdorf, Germany), David Bruge (Frankfurt am Main, Germany), Ming Fang (Andover, Mass.) and Sergei V. Ivanov (Schnecksville, Pa.).
