ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,301,262, issued on May 13, was assigned to Mercedes-Benz Group AG (Stuttgart, Germany).
"On-board autoencoder for vehicles" was invented by Vikram Bharadwaj (Sunnyvale, Calif.), Aaron Brown (Sunnyvale, Calif.) and Thomas Monninger (Sunnyvale, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A vehicle computing system can receive sensor data from a sensor suite of the vehicle. The system can execute a autoencoder on the sensor data to compress the sensor data, and can stored the compressed sensor data in an on-board database of the vehicle."
The patent was filed on Feb. 9, 2023, under Application No. 18/107,651.
