ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,460,242, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to MEDTRONIC MINIMED INC. (Northridge, Calif.).

"Ethylene oxide absorption layer for analyte sensing and method" was invented by Robert McKinlay (West Hills, Calif.), Chi-En Lin (Encino, Calif.) and Tri T. Dang (Winnetka, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An analyte biosensor is provided having an analyte biosensing layer and an ethylene oxide absorption layer. The ethylene oxide absorption layer is provided over the analyte biosensing layer. A method is also provided."
