US Patent Issued to Medline Industries on Feb. 10 for "Foley catheter system with specimen sampling port disinfectant cap and corresponding tray packaging systems and drainage products" (Illinois, Washington Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,544,534, issued on Feb. 10, was assigned to Medline Industries LP (Northfield, Ill.).

"Foley catheter system with specimen sampling port disinfectant cap and corresponding tray packaging systems and drainage products" was invented by Ann Price (Chicago), Lucas Crosby (Crystal Lake, Ill.) and Mary Pat Eble (Bellevue, Wash.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A medical procedure kit includes a Foley catheter having a specimen sampling port coupled thereto. A disinfectant cap is selectively attachable to, and detachable from, the specimen sampling port of the Foley catheter."
