ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,295,542, issued on May 13, was assigned to Meditrina Inc. (San Jose, Calif.).
"Endoscope imaging and control systems and methods for use in diagnostic and therapeutic medical procedures" was invented by Daniel Truckai (Saratoga, Calif.), Akos Toth (Cupertino, Calif.) and Csaba Truckai (Saratoga, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Endoscopic viewing systems for use in diagnostic and therapeutic medical procedures. More specifically, an imaging and control system and coupler that allows for control of imaging and fluid management from a hand-held unit coupled to a conventional multiple-use, sterilizable endoscope."
