ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,336,770, issued on June 24, was assigned to Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research (Rochester, Minn.).
"Endoscopic ultrasound electroporation" was invented by Samuel J. Asirvatham (Rochester, Minn.) and Barham K. Abu Dayyeh (Rochester, Minn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Cystic lesions can be treated by electroporation. For example, this document describes methods and devices for endoscopic ultrasound-guided ablation of cystic lesions using a needle for electroporation."
The patent was filed on May 2, 2023, under Application No. 18/142,385.
