ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,324,816, issued on June 10, was assigned to Mayo Foundation for Medical Education and Research (Rochester, Minn.).
"Compositions containing platelet contents" was invented by Allan B. Dietz (Chatfield, Minn.), Michael P. Gustafson (Rochester, Minn.) and Greg W. Butler (Rochester, Minn.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This document provides methods and materials relating to platelet lysates. For example, methods and materials for using platelet lysate compositions to grow adult stem cells, to differentiate adult stem cells, to grow primary cell cultures, to grow tumor stem cells, and to identify effective growth factors are provided."
