ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,317,610, issued on May 27, was assigned to Maxeon Solar Pte. Ltd (Singapore).
"Solar panel" was invented by Tamir Lance (Los Gatos, Calif.), Nathan Beckett (Oakland, Calif.), Gilad Almogy (Palo Alto, Calif.) and David B. DeGraaff (Mountain View, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A high efficiency configuration for a solar cell module comprises solar cells arranged in an overlapping shingled manner and conductively bonded to each other in their overlapping regions to form super cells, which may be arranged to efficiently use the area of the solar module."
The patent was filed on March 16, 2023, under Application No. 18/122,384.
