ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,230,724, issued on Feb. 18, was assigned to Maxeon Solar Pte. Ltd. (Singapore).

"Solar cells having hybrid architectures including differentiated p-type and n-type regions with offset contacts" was invented by David D. Smith (Campbell, Calif.), Jeffrey El Cotter (San Jose, Calif.), David Aaron Randolph Barkhouse (Oakland, Calif.) and Taeseok Kim (Pleasanton, Calif.).
