ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,344,776, issued on July 1, was assigned to MAX-PLANCK-GESELLSCHAFT ZUR FORDERUNG DER WISSENSCHAFTEN E.V. (Munich).
"Liquid repellent fibrillar dry adhesive material and a method of producing the same" was invented by Metin Sitti (Stuttgart, Germany), Dirk-Michael Drotlef (Sindelfingen, Germany) and Ville Liimatainen (Ehingen, Germany).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to a method of producing a fibrillary dry adhesive material having a plurality of fibrils. Furthermore, the invention relates to a fibrillar dry adhesive material in particular having liquid super-repellency."
