ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,275,002, issued on April 15, was assigned to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Cambridge, Mass.).
"Methane upgrade to ethane and ethylene within ceramic membrane reactors" was invented by Ahmed Ghoniem (Winchester, Mass.), Bilge Yildiz (Cambridge, Mass.) and Georgios Dimitrakopoulos (Boston).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A ceramic membrane for oxidative coupling of methane can include a perovskite oxide and catalyst material on a surface of the membrane."
The patent was filed on April 28, 2021, under Application No. 17/243,219.
