US Patent Issued to MARY KAY on April 15 for "Barrier guard technology" (Texas Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,274,776, issued on April 15, was assigned to MARY KAY INC. (Addison, Texas).

"Barrier guard technology" was invented by Geetha Kalahasti (Addison, Texas) and David Gan (Addison, Texas).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed is a method of treating skin. The method can include applying to skin a composition including cholesterol, ceramide II, and shea butter, wherein the composition comprises a wt. % ratio of cholesterol:ceramide II:shea butter of 3:1:1."
