ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,316,238, issued on May 27, was assigned to Marel Power Solutions Inc. (Plymouth, Mich.).
"Air-cooled power converter" was invented by Ian Byers (Northville, Mich.), Gary Miller (Caseville, Mich.) and Stuart Wooters (Franklin, Mich.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A power converter that includes a bus bar, a transistor, and a heat-pipe. The transistor includes first and second terminals between which current is transmitted when the first transistor is activated, and a gate terminal for controlling the transistor. The terminal is thermally and electrically connected to the bus bar. The heat-pipe is thermally connected to the first bus bar."...
