ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,376,920, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to MAKO Surgical Corp. (Weston, Fla.).

"Steering assembly for surgical robot" was invented by Alan Ross (Albuquerque, N.M.) and Paul Shiels (Albuquerque, N.M.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A surgical robot a robotic device and a cart. The cart is coupled to the robotic device and includes a steering assembly.
