ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,279,827, issued on April 22, was assigned to MAKO Surgical Corp. (Weston, Fla.).

"System and method for surgical planning" was invented by Hyosig Kang (Weston, Fla.), Daniel Odermatt (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), Alon Mozes (Miami Beach, Fla.), Chunyan Wu (Parkland, Fla.) and Miranda Jamieson (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.).
