ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,479,347, issued on Nov. 25, was assigned to MACNEIL IP LLC (Bolingbrook, Ill.).

"Hinged cargo liner" was invented by Ryan Granger (Lemont, Ill.) and Eric Griesinger (Plainfield, Ill.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An injection-molded cargo liner has a floor panel, at least one seat back panel and a plurality of accordion pleats joining the floor panel to the seat back panel. Living hinges between adjacent ones of the panels and pleats are made by reducing thickness.
