US Patent Issued to Lyten on March 18 for "Lithium-air battery" (California, Texas Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,255,309, issued on March 18, was assigned to Lyten Inc. (San Jose, Calif.).

"Lithium-air battery" was invented by Jerzy Gazda (Austin, Texas), Karel Vanheusden (Woodside, Calif.), Ratnakumar Bugga (Arcadia, Calif.) and Daniel Cook (Woodside, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A battery may include an anode, a cathode positioned opposite to the anode, a separator positioned between the anode and the cathode, an electrolyte dispersed throughout the cathode and in contact with the anode, and a dual-pore system.
