ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,311,888, issued on May 27, was assigned to Lyell Loomis Inc. (Gunnison County, Colo.).
"Apparatus and method for active cargo carrier mounting system" was invented by Neil Thomas Buttermore (Gunnison County, Colo.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Embodiments of active cargo carrier mounting system secure a cargo carrier to a top surface of a vehicle using at least one vacuum pump fluidly coupled to a plurality of vacuum cups configured to secure the active cargo carrier mounting system to a surface of the vehicle."
The patent was filed on Feb. 27, 2024, under Application No. 18/589,207.
