ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,480,155, issued on Nov. 25, was assigned to LumiraDx UK Ltd. (London).

"Nicking enzymes" was invented by Jarrod Provins (San Clemente, Calif.), Victor Perez (Imperial Beach, Calif.), Daiwei Shen (Vista, Calif.), Anthony Farina (Carlsbad, Calif.) and Bryan Kraynack (La Jolla, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed is a composition comprising a nicking enzyme and a water-soluble rubidium salt, and a method of performing a reaction catalysed by a nicking enzyme including the presence of a water-soluble rubidium salt in the reaction."

The patent was filed on June 9, 2020, under Application No. 17/618,949.
