US Patent Issued to Lumileds on July 15 for "LED die having centrally peaked surface luminance" (Dutch, American Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,364,082, issued on July 15, was assigned to Lumileds LLC (San Jose, Calif.).

"LED die having centrally peaked surface luminance" was invented by Yu-Chen Shen (Sunnyvale, Calif.), Jeffrey Vincent DiMaria (San Jose, Calif.), Florent Gregoire Monestier (Kerkrade, Netherlands) and Antonio Lopez Julia (Vaals, Netherlands).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A light-emitting diode (LED) die can include a p-n junction between a p-doped semiconductor material and an n-doped semiconductor material.
