ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,252,513, issued on March 18, was assigned to Lumen Bioscience Inc. (Seattle).
"Thermostable phycobiliproteins produced from recombinant arthrospira" was invented by James Roberts (Seattle), Ryo Takeuchi (Seattle), Nhi Khuong (Kenmore, Wash.), Barry L Stoddard (Bellevue, Wash.) and Rolf Kuestner (Seattle).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided herein are novel thermostable phycobiliproteins. These proteins may be stabilized by the introduction of disulfide bonds which stabilize the protein. Modified cells expressing these thermostable phycobiliproteins and methods of making them are also provided."
