ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,338,361, issued on June 24, was assigned to Lubrizol Advanced Materials Inc. (Cleveland).

"Multi-amine polyester dispersant made via an anhydride intermediate" was invented by Elliot Coulbeck (Bury, Great Britain) and Dean Thetford (Rochdale, Great Britain).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a dispersant derived from an alcohol terminated polymer and via an anhydride intermediate. The anhydride functionalized polyester is then reacted with a multi-amine species forming amide and salt bonds."

The patent was filed on March 13, 2020, under Application No. 17/438,659.
