ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 13 -- United States Patent no. 12,522,635, issued on Jan. 13, was assigned to Loyola Marymount University (Los Angeles) and MOUNT SAINT MARY'S UNIVERSITY (Los Angeles).
"Amyloid peptide variants" was invented by David Moffet (Canoga Park, Calif.) and Luiza Nogaj (Canoga Park, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "IAPP peptides which inhibit the aggregation of human Islet Amyloid Polypeptide and their use in inhibiting amyloid fibril formation."
The patent was filed on Feb. 24, 2020, under Application No. 17/428,615.
