ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,414,860, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Life Spine Inc. (Huntley, Ill.).
"Implant with bone screw retention" was invented by Eugene Shoshtaev (Del Mar, Calif.) and Paul Christopher Zakelj (Chicago).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An implant includes an interbody device having a front, a rear, a first lateral side, a second lateral side, a central cavity, and a plurality of bores extending into the rear of the interbody device, each arced bore being configured to receive an arced anchoring member."
The patent was filed on May 17, 2023, under Application No. 18/319,084.
