US Patent Issued to LG Electronics on May 6 for "Video or image coding based on luma mapping and chroma scaling" (South Korean Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,294,713, issued on May 6, was assigned to LG Electronics Inc. (Seoul, South Korea).

"Video or image coding based on luma mapping and chroma scaling" was invented by Jie Zhao (Seoul, South Korea) and Seunghwan Kim (Seoul, South Korea).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "According to disclosure of the present document, an LMCS procedure can be used for blocks having various block tree structures, and memories used in the LMCS procedure can be reduced (limited)."
