ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,546,989, issued on Feb. 10, was assigned to LG Electronics Inc. (Seoul, South Korea).
"Phosphor wheel, illuminator, and projector" was invented by Minsung Kim (Seoul, South Korea), Gunyoung Hong (Seoul, South Korea), Bokyung Kang (Seoul, South Korea) and Seungmi Baek (Seoul, South Korea).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A phosphor wheel comprising: a substrate having a recess, a phosphor layer disposed in the recess, and a first reflection layer surrounding the substrate. Thus, heat emission efficiency is increased, and it is possible to prevent defects such as cracking or discolouration of the phosphor layer."
