US Patent Issued to LG Electronics on Dec. 16 for "Display device" (South Korean Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,499,847, issued on Dec. 16, was assigned to LG Electronics Inc. (Seoul, South Korea).

"Display device" was invented by Kyong Hoon Lee (Seoul, South Korea) and Sang Soo Hwang (Seoul, South Korea).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The object of the present disclosure aims to reduce power consumption and improve resolution and contrast ratio by implementing a smaller unit block for dimming in the area that the user perceives as the main area."
