ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,479,734, issued on Nov. 25, was assigned to LG Chem Ltd. (Seoul, South Korea).
"Aerogel composite" was invented by Mi Ri Kim (Daejeon, South Korea), Hye Kyung Han (Daejeon, South Korea), Kyung Inn Kim (Daejeon, South Korea), Min Hwa Shin (Daejeon, South Korea) and Kyoung Shil Oh (Daejeon, South Korea).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An aerogel composite has excellent thermal stability even when exposed to a high-temperature environment, thereby being capable of maintaining high heat insulation."
The patent was filed on Dec. 19, 2024, under Application No. 18/987,296.
