ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,533,656, issued on Jan. 27, was assigned to LG Chem Ltd. (Seoul, South Korea).
"Super absorbent polymer" was invented by Soo Young Kwak (Daejeon, South Korea), Kwang In Shin (Daejeon, South Korea) and Kyung Su Kim (Daejeon, South Korea).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A super absorbent polymer, where a TD-NMR analysis result after swelling the super absorbent polymer with D2O satisfies Equation 1: Nt=0.1(%)less than equal to50(%), where Nt=0.1 represents a normalized intensity measured at a signal acquisition time of 0.1 ms."
The patent was filed on Dec. 10, 2024, under Application No. 18/975,077.
