ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,435,161, issued on Oct. 7, was assigned to LESAFFRE ET COMPAGNIE (Paris).
"Process for direct sulfation of polysaccharides in an ecologically acceptable solvent" was invented by Paola Bazza (Desio, Italy), Davide Bianchi (Desio, Italy) and Auro Roberto Tagliani (Desio, Italy).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to a novel process for obtaining direct sulfation of unprotected sugars, in particular polysaccharides, using ecologically acceptable solvents."
The patent was filed on March 2, 2021, under Application No. 17/905,337.
