ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,442,400, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to Lenovo (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. (New Tech Park, Singapore).
"Screw release with force release component" was invented by Bouziane Yebka (Apex, N.C.), Tin-Lup Wong (Chapel Hill, N.C.) and Philip Jakes (Durham, N.C.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A screw includes a screw head, a threaded shaft, and a force release component connecting the screw head to the threaded shaft. The force release component releases the screw head from the threaded shaft in response to a specified force. The specified force is substantially along a screw axis in-line with the threaded shaft."
