ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,442,567, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to Lennox Industries Inc. (Richardson, Texas).

"Thermodynamic heat recovery without an additional thermodynamic circuit" was invented by Bastien Jovet (Peisey-Nancroix, France).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A refrigerant circuit includes a compressor operable to compress a refrigerant, an expansion valve, an outdoor heat exchanger, an indoor heat exchanger in a fresh air inlet to a conditioned space, a recovery heat exchanger in an extracted air outlet from the conditioned space, and a reversing valve operable to direct a direction of refrigerant flow between a cooling mode and a heating mode."
