ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,352,069, issued on July 8, was assigned to Latham Pool Products Inc. (Latham, N.Y.).

"Pool cover hinged sliding assembly" was invented by Daniel Barlocker (Eagle Mountain, Utah) and Mathew Dalton (Saratoga Springs, Utah).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Described is a hinged sliding assembly for a pool cover assembly including a slider member having a rod member and defining an opening, wherein the slider member is coupleable to a pool cover; and a hinged rope lock member coupled to the rod member and positioned at least partially within the opening, wherein the hinged rope lock member is coupleable to a rope of the pool cover."
