ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,281,344, issued on April 22, was assigned to LanzaTech Inc. (Skokie, Ill.).

"Integrated gas fermentation" was invented by Jennifer Rosa Holmgren (Skokie, Ill.), Sean Alex Rollag (Chicago), Richard Russell Rosin (Glencoe, Ill.) and Taylor Craig Schulz (Chicago).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Integrated process for providing multiple raw materials to a downstream operation to generate an article of manufacture. Pyrolysis, torrefaction, reforming, partial oxidation, and/or gasification is integrated with gas fermentation.
