ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,331,928, issued on June 17, was assigned to Lamplight Farms Inc. (Menomonee Falls, Wis.).

"Fire pit ash cleanup" was invented by Kyle Ressler (West Bend, Wis.), Daniel J. Knight (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) and Andrew Alan Harmeling (Milwaukee).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A fire pit has a combustion chamber with a perforated floor, a chute below the perforated floor directing ash and debris from the floor to an area below the chute, and a removable ash pan occupying the area below the chute and having a handle affixed thereto."

The patent was filed on June 15, 2021, under Application No. 17/348,382.
