US Patent Issued to KYOWA KIRIN on April 22 for "IL-2 variant" (Japanese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,280,118, issued on April 22, was assigned to KYOWA KIRIN Co. LTD. (Tokyo).

"IL-2 variant" was invented by Masahiro Ikeda (Tokyo), Shinpei Yamaguchi (Tokyo), Masumi Murakami (Tokyo) and Hideyuki Onodera (Tokyo).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An object of the present invention is to provide a novel IL-2 variant which has improved selectivity for IL-2RAlphaBetaGamma and selectively activates Tregs. The present invention relates to an IL-2 variant, a method for producing the IL-2 variant, a composition and a therapeutic agent for an immune disease, comprising the IL-2 variant, a method for increasing selectivity of IL-2 for IL-2RAlphaBetaGamma...
