ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,327,984, issued on June 10, was assigned to KYOCERA SLD Laser Inc. (Goleta, Calif.).
"Low voltage laser diodes on {20-21} gallium and nitrogen containing surfaces" was invented by James W. Raring (Santa Barbara, Calif.), Mathew Schmidt (Goleta, Calif.) and Christiane Poblenz (Goleta, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A low voltage laser device having an active region configured for one or more selected wavelengths of light emissions."
The patent was filed on June 9, 2021, under Application No. 17/343,587.
