ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,283,790, issued on April 22, was assigned to Kyocera SLD Laser Inc. (Goleta, Calif.).

"Laser-phosphor integrated light source" was invented by Sten Heikman (Goleta, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A phosphor integrated laser-based light source includes a thermally conductive material arranged on a package base adjacent to a laser diode chip and an optically transparent material coupled to the thermally conductive material.
