ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,275,579, issued on April 15, was assigned to Koninklijke Douwe Egberts B.V. (Utrecht, Netherlands).

"System for preparing a beverage from a capsule using a fluid supplied under pressure into the capsule and a capsule for use in such a system" was invented by Ralf Kamerbeek (De Meern, Netherlands).
