ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,216,230, issued on Feb. 4, was assigned to KOITO MANUFACTURING Co. LTD. (Tokyo).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A sensor unit is disposed outside a lamp housing of a vehicle to detect information in an outside area of the vehicle. An actuator is configured to be able to change at least one of a position and a posture of the sensor unit with respect to the lamp housing. A processor is configured to control an operation of the actuator."
