ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,296,074, issued on May 13, was assigned to Kohler Co. (Kohler, Wis.).

"Collection panels for bathroom aerosols" was invented by William Kuru (Plymouth, Wis.), Clayton Garrels (Kohler, Wis.) and William Kalk (Sheboygan, Wis.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A panel for accumulation of aerosol particles in an indoor environment includes a surface plate and an electrostatic collector plate coupled to the surface plate and configured to hold an electrical charge to attract and accumulate aerosol particles. The panel may include or otherwise be coupled with an activation device."
