"External-use composition" was invented by Masahiko Komorisono (Ibaraki, Japan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A composition for external use comprising (A) an ascorbic acid compound, derivatives and salts thereof; (B) an edetic acid salt; (C) a glycyrrhizic acid salt; (D) a heparinoid; and (E) water and an ascorbic acid compound-containing composition for external use in which precipitation under low-temperature storage conditions is suppressed."
