ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,228,946, issued on Feb. 18, was assigned to Kitty Hawk Corp. (Palo Alto, Calif.).
"Distributed flight control system" was invented by Mark Johnson Cutler (Sunnyvale, Calif.), Todd Reichert (Mountain View, Calif.) and James Jackson (Provo, Utah).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A set of commands for each of a plurality of actuators to alter an aircraft's state responsive to one or more inputs is produced. The set of commands is provided to fewer than all actuators comprising the plurality of actuators."
