ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,444,130, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to King's College London (London).

"Method and system for reconstructing the three-dimensional surface of tubular organs" was invented by Hongbin Liu (London), George Abrahams (London) and Bu'hussain Hayee (London).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of visualising the three-dimensional internal surface of a lumen in real-time comprising using various combinations of image, motion and shape data obtained from an endoscope with a trained neural network and a curved lumen model. The three-dimensional internal surface may be unfolded to form a two-dimensional visualisation."
