ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,415,802, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to KING FAISAL UNIVERSITY (Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia).

"Dipyridine benzothiophene derivative compound" was invented by Yousef Saad Yousef Aldabayan (Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia) and Hany Mohamed Abd El-Lateef Ahmed (Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A dipyridine benzo[b]thiophene derivative compound including 4-(1-benzothiophen-2-yl)-6-ethoxy-2,3'-bipyridine-5-carbonitrile. The compound can be used as an antioxidant and as an antiviral agent."
