ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,275,512, issued on April 15, was assigned to KING FAISAL UNIVERSITY (Al Hasa, Saudi Arabia).
"Robotic fish" was invented by Idris Homed Idris Ali Lebab (Al Hasa, Saudi Arabia) and Abdal Halim Musa Yagoub Abdalrazig (Al Hasa, Saudi Arabia).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A robotic fish includes a pair of rear lateral gears controlling a rear portion of the robotic fish, and a pair of front lateral gears control a front portion of the robotic fish. A pair of right side lateral gears control a right pectoral side of the robotic fish, and a pair of left side lateral gears control a left pectoral side of the robotic fish."
