ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,415,108, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Kidde Technologies Inc. (Wilson, N.C.).
"Fire suppression blends of CF3I, HCFOs and CO2" was invented by Adam Chattaway (Old Windsor, Great Britain), Terry Simpson (Wake Forest, N.C.), Harlan Hagge (Knightdale, N.C.), Mark P. Fazzio (Wilson, N.C.), Marios C. Soteriou (Middletown, Conn.), Paul Papas (West Hartford, Conn.), Eli Baldwin (Knightdale, N.C.) and Qing Edda Liu (Wake Forest, N.C.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A fire suppressant blend comprises CF3I; at least one hydrofluoro-olefin (HFO) or hydrochlorofluoro-olefin (HCFO), or both; and carbon dioxide."
