ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,296,209, issued on May 13, was assigned to KIDDE TECHNOLOGIES INC. (Wilson, N.C.).

"Fire extinguishing agent nozzle structure" was invented by Mark P. Fazzio (Wilson, N.C.) and Terry Simpson (Wake Forest, N.C.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An aircraft engine fire extinguishing system includes a supply housing for containing a fire extinguishing agent. Also included is a line for routing the fire extinguishing agent from the supply housing. Further included is a nozzle structure operatively coupled to the line, the nozzle structure having a non-circular opening for expelling the fire extinguishing agent."
