ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,247,811, issued on March 11, was assigned to KENNAMETAL INC. (Latrobe, Pa.).
"Armor plate, armor plate composite and armor" was invented by Manfred Wolf (Mistelgau, Germany), Armin Helldoerfer (Mistelgau, Germany), Werner Parlow (Mistelgau, Germany) and Thomas Theuerkauf (Mistelgau, Germany).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An armor plate consists of a material comprising a cermet, and the armor plate has a density in the range from 5.0 to 6.5 g/cm3. An armor plate composite and an armor are provided as well."
