ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,368,821, issued on July 22, was assigned to Katmai Tech Inc. (New York).
"Optimizing physics for static objects in a three-dimensional virtual environment" was invented by Gerard Cornelis Krol (Leiden, Netherlands) and Petr Polyakov (Tampa, Fla.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein is a web-based videoconference system that allows for video avatars to navigate within a virtual environment. Various methods for efficient modeling, rendering, and shading are disclosed herein."
